The congregation of Providence OPC asks their brothers and sisters in Christ to join them in giving praise to God for his continuing grace to his people in central Pennsylvania. The Word of God is proclaimed twice each Lord’s Day, the Lord’s Supper is faithfully administered monthly during morning worship, and the pastor, the ruling elders and the deacon of the congregation are humbly seeking to shepherd and care for the flock. A prayer meeting is held on a weekly basis, and the Lord is answering the supplications of his people and supplying grace and help in time of need. Please pray that the Spirit of Christ would use the means of grace to sanctify his people, deepen repentance, and increase love to God and to neighbor, especially to those of the household of faith. Pray that the gifts given to each would be used for building one another up in the knowledge and love of Christ, and that the pastor, elders, and deacon would have a clearer vision of how gifts might be more fully employed in the life of the congregation. Pray that there would be power in the preaching, as well as expectancy for Christ’s presence in worship. Several people are presently taking a membership class during Sunday School. Please pray that everyone in the class would commit to becoming communicant members before year’s end. Finally, pray for the congregation’s planned outreach during the annual outdoor German market held in Mifflinburg in early December. This year, Providence Church will be hosting a traditional German breakfast, open to the public, during the morning of December 10th, and is looking forward to sharing Christ with those who attend.
