Lake OPC held its congregational meeting, called by the overseeing session, on January 29, 2012. The mission work families unanimously approved to extend a call to its first regular pastor. They also elected four men (3 elders, 1 deacon) as officers, adopted its constitution and bylaws, and recommended to the session a 2012 budget. The nearly three-hour meeting was well attended. The members were very engaged in debate of the important decisions that needed to be made. Pastor Oldaker reports, “It was a blessing to see the unity of the Holy Spirit working in the group as they graciously and seriously dealt with the issues before them.”
Lake OPC is petitioning the Presbytery of Ohio at its March meeting to be organized as a new and separate congregation and to request the presbytery to act on the call of its pastor.
