Springtime in New England is beautiful for two reasons: the cold winter is giving way to warmer days and the blossoms and foliage are budding. So it is for pastor Tim Beauchamp and the congregation of Pleasant Mountain Presbyterian Church in western Maine. In the cold winter months, they sadly bid farewell to two families who moved away for work related purposes, but they also received two dear elderly saints who were looking for a church that preached the Gospel in a land that is spiritually barren.
Tim was invited recently to speak about the mission to a ladies group at the local congregational church. He spoke about the authority of scripture, the sufficiency of Christ, the nature of saving faith, and other topics of great debate in this mainline UCC congregational church. Since then, a few from the congregational church have visited Pleasant Mountain. Pray that the seeds planted from this opportunity will bear much fruit.
Pray also for the growth and continual unity of the body as they endeavor to be salt and light in their community.
