Hillsdale OPC, a “town and gown” congregation, is enjoying significant fellowship and care across both communities within the congregation. In the past few months two people have been baptized: one a recently born covenant child and the other an adult making a profession of faith. Pastor Everett Henes continues to write a weekly column for the local paper. He also led a series of Bible studies at the local library. These have brought new contacts and helped introduce people to the OPC as a faithful, Bible-believing church. Pray for wisdom as the congregation looks for a better meeting place. The building that was being pursued for purchase is off the table due to zoning matters. Rent at the current facility has gone up, and the congregation would like a place that can be used throughout the week. Pray that a location near the college will soon become available. Pray too for the congregation’s efforts to reach out to unbelievers in the community. Pastor Henes regularly makes new contacts and continues to meet with people throughout the week. Pray that God will bless these efforts with much fruit.
