Earlier this month nearly 50 people gathered in the home of Pastor Kim and Barbara Kuhfuss for the first worship service of Covenant OPC. Eau Claire is not new territory for the OPC. Covenant OPC in Hammond, Wis. had made efforts in the past to plant a church there.
For a time several years ago, weekly services were held, but there was no full time church planter on the ground. After those services ended, some families began making the one-hour drive to worship in Hammond. With renewed interest, Kim Kuhfuss, previously the pastor in Hammond, took the call to plant a church in Eau Claire. Pray that the congregation will find a suitable meeting place soon. Pray too for wisdom as outreach efforts are planned to reach the 65,000 residents of the city and the 10,000 students at the University of Wisconsin’s Eau Claire campus.
