Holy Trinity Presbyterian Church has taken on a more outward focus this year. Members of the congregation sang Christmas carols at a local retirement center, which is home to many shut-ins. That led to a Palm Sunday service, and Pastor Chad (Katie) Mullinix said plans are now being made to hold services there once a month.
Many unbelieving friends attended the church’s 4th of July picnic at a local park. A second Friend Day is planned after a good number of visitors attended the one held earlier this year. Attendance is down slightly from a few months ago. Pray that God will bring new people to worship, and that others will return. The congregation has given faithfully, and finances are stable. Pray for two deacon candidates who begin officer training this week. Pray for wisdom as the facilities search committee looks for a place that will include room for Sunday school and a nursery. Pray too that planned neighborhood discussion groups at members’ homes will provide opportunities for outreach and evangelism.
