Mike (Katy) Myers was among the Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary students who were asked to fill the pulpit in the early days of Heritage Presbyterian Church, then meeting in Royston, Georgia. Earlier this year, he was asked to consider becoming the organizing pastor. Mike took up his labors in May as a stated supply. Much of Mike’s first six months has been focused on completing examinations for ordination. He will be ordained and installed on December 6. Pray for diligence and endurance as he focuses more fully on shepherding the flock. After losing its meeting space, the mission work moved to Hartwell, Georgia. Pray that the Lord will provide a more permanent location for worship. More than half of the fifty-some members are covenant children. Pray that the congregation will not be discouraged by its current size, and also that the desire to reach out to others in the area will continue to grow. A number of visitors have attended the evening service since HPC is one of only a few churches in the area that has one. Pray that these visitors will desire to join with the group.
