Reformation OPC is settling into the school-year routine after a busy summer. In July, a team from Cedar OPC in Hudsonville, Michigan came to help with outreach efforts. While handing out snow cones, they invited people to attend worship and other events the congregation holds. Many of these new contacts came to the three BBQ&A sessions held in the park in August, and some have maintained a level of connection sending their children to the congregation’s kids club and other events, but so far none have come to worship. Pray that these contacts will become visitors and that current visitors will join the congregation. While all this was going on, Reformation launched a new website. Pray that this too will bear fruit. Pastor Shishko has
Several visitors to Covenant OPC have become regular attenders. Pastor Chelpka reports that the congregation gives faithfully. Three new people have begun to regularly attend Covenant Reformed Christian Fellowship, the congregation’s outreach to the nearby campus of the University of Arizona. The group also had several good conversations with those who stopped by their booth at the annual student involvement fair. Several visitors are attending the women’s Bible study. Pray that the visitors to these studies will also come to worship. Pray too, that a new men’s Bible study will see visitors from outside the congregation.
Iglesia Presbiteriana Reformada currently meets for an evening Bible study on Thursday of one week and gathers for a worship service on Friday evening of the next week. The group is looking forward to beginning Sunday worship services in January, when the congregation in San Juan moves into their new building, and Pastor Cruz is able to travel to Ponce on Sunday evenings. Pray that more local people will gather as the switch to Sunday worship is made. Several people involved in the Ponce work are also involved with a weekly radio program that has a large number of listeners in Ponce, and many more throughout South and Central America who listen on line. Pray that this program will bear fruit. Pray too, that God will provide financially for
Gospel Life Church is in a period of transition as some people have moved, and new people have begun attending worship. In August, several new people began attending worship after moving to Chicago. Pray that more working professionals and college students will come to worship in this season when many move to Chicago. Gospel Life’s Bible study at the local Whole Foods Market has born fruit with several people coming to worship. Pray that others who have begun attending the study will also come to worship. Pray for wisdom for Pastor Ro as he provides pastoral counseling to those in the congregation.
Neon Reformed Presbyterian Church has been blessed by significant gifts from other OP congregations. Pray that the Lord will continue to provide financially as they remain slightly behind budget. An OP family from Michigan who moved to the area was recently received by NRPC. Pastor Bennett has ordered 1,000 balloons with the church’s information and a helium tank to bring people to NRPC’s booth at the Mountain Home Festival. Pray that the Lord will bless this effort and Pastor Bennett’s plans for door-to-door outreach and another festival. Pastor Bennett continues his involvement with the Sola Gratia group at Alice Lloyd College. Five new freshmen have joined the group this year. One couple from the group is getting married next month and
