Resurrection OPC has been busy with two weddings, one birth and a new family joining the congregation. Pastor Montgomery is ministering to new Christians, including one who heard the gospel as Pastor Montgomery preached on the Pennsylvania State University campus, and an unbeliever whom he has met with for some time. Pray that God will use the contacts to draw people to himself. Pray too that the congregation will be continually evangelistic. Preparations are being made to particularize this fall, and officer training is wrapping up. The congregation’s current rented space works well, but is quite expensive. Pray that the Lord will provide a long-term facility. The congregation’s men have enjoyed a monthly fellowship night at a local
Reformation OPC has been praying for eight new families this year. Two families are preparing to join this month. There have been a good number of visitors, many of whom have found Reformation through Sermonaudio.com. Pray that visitors will stay and grow in their involvement. Pray also that people will diligently reach out to those around them. Pastor Fowler reports that the Lord has provided everything the work needs. Giving is meeting budget, and many have offered help to others who need it. Pray for continued unity in the congregation as it faces several hard providences, including several serious illnesses. Pray too for wisdom as the congregation considers the best way to engage students at nearby Gaston College.
About 35 people have been gathering weekly for worship at the Morgan Hill Community Center since mid April. Pray that the Lord will provide a facility that will allow for morning worship. Pray too that the Lord will provide an accompanist. About half the group gets together for a mid-week Bible study and prayer meeting. Pray that summer gatherings in a local park will increase visibility and lead to good contacts. Pray too, that God will use members’ daily interactions to call people to himself. The congregation has a website and Facebook page, and is preparing the first of a series of mailers that will precede door-to door outreach. Pray for Tony as he takes ordination exams throughout the summer.
Slow and steady growth continues at Covenant OPC. Some families who have been very involved are moving away, but others have begun attending. Several families from varied backgrounds are taking a membership class. Giving has been good, but somewhat below budget. Pray that the Lord will continue to provide. As attendance averages in the 70s, the session is finding it harder to keep up with effectively shepherding the congregation. Pray for wisdom and stamina as they seek to be faithful. Covenant has joined with several other OP congregations in Arizona to place flyers in the hands of each attendee of a statewide homeschool conference held in Phoenix. Pray that this effort will introduce many to the OPC.
Reformation Church’s website is getting an overhaul, and new print materials have been designed in preparation for a busy time of outreach this summer. The youth group from Cedar Presbyterian Church in Hudsonville, MI along with its Pastor, Steve Igo, will hand out snow cones and engage locals in conversation at Cunningham Park next month, inviting them to Reformation’s BBQ&A events held at the park in August. Pray that many will come. The congregation has also been searching intensely for a new meeting location. Pray that the Lord will provide a building that is available throughout the week, especially on Sunday evenings. Pray too that the Lord will raise up godly men to serve the congregation as elders and deacons. The congregation
