Grace Reformed Fellowship is actively reaching out to the community. The congregation had a booth at Lander’s recent Winter Fair and invited many to worship. Pray that some of those invited will come. Elder Todd Smith leads a study on the Westminster Standards on Sunday evenings in neighboring Riverton, WY. About twenty people have been attending these studies. Pray that the Lord will bless this outreach. For the last several weeks, Pastor Strong and several others have attended meetings of the Peak Theology Pub. The group tends to be relativistic and Post Modern, but those from Grace Reformed have had the opportunity to present the gospel. Pray that the Lord will give wisdom regarding how to interact with those in the group, and that He
Six covenant children were recently baptized at Heritage Presbyterian Church. The senior high age group is getting together monthly with their counterparts from Covenant Community in Greenville. Pray that this will be an opportunity for young people to invite local friends to join them. Pastor Myers recently learned that there are few outreach programs for the young men who live in Hartwell’s public housing units. Pray for wisdom as he seeks opportunities to build relationships with them. Pray too that the Lord will bless a Bible study, which will begin in the coming weeks. A strategically located building has been found. Pray that the congregation will be able to work out a suitable rental agreement. Pray too that the Lord will raise up
Pray for Emmanuel Indonesian Protestant Church (EIPC) as they have completed their program of denominational financial assistance. Another Indonesian church, with which the congregation has had close ties, has dissolved and several members have come to EIPC. Other new visitors have also come recently. Pray that these visitors will stay and that the larger group will continue to be united. Each week 15 to 20 children attend Sunday school. Pray for wisdom as Pastor Dharmawirya and others consider how the children’s ministry might grow to reach into the community. Many from outside the church attend VBS each summer, but that has not yet translated into attendance at worship. Pray too, that the Lord will bring visitors though the congregation’s
Less than a year after moving into rented facilities at a strip mall, membership has grown to more than 50 people, and with still more people preparing to join, Providence OPC will soon need to find a larger worship facility. Pray that the Lord will provide a suitable facility at an affordable price. Nominations for officers are currently being accepted. Several men have been nominated, and Pastor Stevenson is preparing a training course. Pray for wisdom and strength for these men. A radio ad did not bear much fruit and has been discontinued, but the congregation’s web site and Sermon Audio traffic has been good. The Sunday evening Bible study has been well attended. Pray for wisdom as plans are being made to add an evening service.
Hillsdale OPC has been in its new building for several months now. Two families have found Hillsdale OPC since they moved to the new building, and student attendance has not been affected by the move away from the college campus. The congregation worked together to get the building ready for congregational use. Pray that people will be found to do the needed work of keeping the building up as well. Pray too that finances will remain strong with the increased costs of having a building. Three community Bible studies will be held this year. Pray that more people from the community will come into contact with the congregation through these events at the church building. Two infants and two adults were baptized recently at Hillsdale OPC.
