Please pray for Ross and Nikki Graham as Ross completes his service as General Secretary of CHMCE. Please pray for John and Anne Shaw and their children as John takes up his labors as the General Secretary. Ask the Lord to provide a house for the Shaws that will make a good home for them near the administrative offices and for the sale of their home in St. Paul, Minnesota at a good price.
Remember the people of the Greater Reading Chinese Church and their pastor Jonathan Peters as their denominational aid comes to an end. The group will become part of Covenant OPC in Reading. Because many in the group are not English speakers, facilities are being set up in Covenant’s new building so that the worship service can be translated. Pray that Covenant’s building will be completed soon. Pray too that God will bless both congregations in this transition, and that the integration will go smoothly.
Pastor Sacha Walicord reports that the people of Knox OPC are growing closer to one another, and they are committed to the work. The congregation was encouraged last week as one of the covenant children made profession of faith. Regular visitors combine with about 45 members for an average attendance around 55 people at morning worship. The men of the church have been studying the biblical requirements for officers, and the mission work is holding nominations for office. Pray that God will raise up faithful officers to lead this group. Knox will hold a marriage and family seminar in early April with Dr. George Scipione as the speaker. Pray that many would benefit from the conference, and that Knox will become better known through the event.
Ten people recently completed a membership class at San Antonio Reformed Church and six more are currently taking the class. Praise God for these new people. Pray also that God will bring more mature Christians and older families to the congregation. Pastor Andrew Moody reports that the heart for evangelism is there, but the people are busy with work and family obligations. Pray that evangelism will be a priority and that there will be opportunities for outreach. A pulpit was recently donated to the work. The Seventh Day Adventist Church chapel room where the group meets holds about 65 people. It can be left set up throughout the week. Praise God for this facility. Pray for those in the congregation who are searching for work, and praise
Resurrection OPC began holding Sunday school at the beginning of the year. Children of all ages meet in the same class, and the adults are studying American Presbyterian history using the book Seeking a Better Country. Pastor Jeremiah Montgomery continues to have good engagement with students on Penn State’s campus where he does open air preaching each week. Four men are taking an officer training class. Average attendance at morning worship reached 40 for the first time in December, and was 44 in February. The group is nearing the capacity of the current rented room, so the search is on for a larger facility. Pray that God will provide a larger facility where both services can be held. Currently morning worship and evening worship are in
