Pastor Todd Bordow reports that the Orthodox Presbyterian Church of Rio Rancho had a number of visitors last year. Many joined the church. There have not been as many new visitors this winter, but around 20 regular visitors are among the 75 or 80 people who gather for worship each week. The OPC of Rio Rancho has about a year left on its lease, but because they are nearing the number of people their current worship space will hold, they are looking for a new building. They are not ready to buy, but rent prices in the area are high. Pray that God will provide a suitable meeting facility at a good price. The congregation holds social events monthly as an opportunity for fellowship and outreach. Pray that God will use these gatherings to bring
At their recent congregational meeting, Living Hope OPC decided to hold an outreach event at least every other month. Each member has been asked to invite three people to worship and a fellowship meal this Sunday. The sermon will be on the Prodigal Son, and the rest of the activities will also tie into a family theme to go along with Ontario’s Family Day provincial holiday on Monday. Pray that God will send many visitors to this event. One man visited twice in January. Pray that he will return, and that Pastor Doug Bylsma will have the opportunity to follow up with him. The facility that Living Hope rents also houses a youth center. Pastor Bylsma has been involved with the youth center for a long time and is encouraged to see other members
Pastor Chad Mullinix reports that several people recently joined the church, and another membership class is scheduled to begin next month. A college and career group of about a dozen people is being led by one of Holy Trinity Presbyterian Church’s elders. The women of the church are growing in fellowship as a new Bible study has begun. Praise God for his goodness to this congregation. Several of the newer members have added to the congregation’s zeal for outreach. Pray for Holy Trinity this year as they seek to organize outreach efforts. Many from the congregation gathered to go caroling at three area retirement communities. One has asked that they return to hold a Palm Sunday service. Pray that God will provide financially for the church,
As Trinity OPC comes to the end of its period of denominational financial support, new people have been visiting worship. Pastor David Robbins reports that there was at least one new face almost every Sunday in November and December, and some have returned. Pray that God will continue to bring new visitors. Pastor Robbins leads a Bible study for about 8 students on the campus of Marshall University. Pray for the students’ efforts to organize as an official student group, which would offer greater access to the campus at a reduced cost. The Fall Bible Conference with Dr. Alan Strange did not bring in many visitors, but it was enriching for the members who attended. Pray that God will bless preparations for further outreach efforts, using
Cornerstone OPC’s current meeting facility is adequate, but “we’d be squeezed if we add three or four new families,” says Pastor Robert Arendale. A fair number of new visitors have attended worship in recent months, and several families have expressed interest in membership. Praise God for his goodness, and pray that he will continue to bring new families. Pray that the Lord will bless the sermon series on Philippians, and a Sunday school class on the prayers of the Bible. A monthly prayer meeting is being held, and a men’s prayer breakfast is being planned. Pray for wisdom as plans are laid out for evangelism efforts throughout the coming year.
