Remember to keep Providence OPC and her pastor John Hilbelink in your prayers as they have completed their program of denominational financial assistance. Pray for the men who are attending officer training. Pastor Hilbelink gives thanks for God’s provision of elders Phil Luginbill who lives in Rockford and continues his faithful service, and Bruce Mulder who served the church faithfully as part of the overseeing session for the last four years. He is thankful too for the faithful financial and prayer support of the OPC. Six people are participating in membership classes. Pray that God will continue to bless Providence by adding new members and visitors to the congregation. Pray too that God will use Pastor Hilbelink’s catechism classes to
Between 25 and 30 people gather for worship each week at Verde Valley Reformed Chapel. Pastor Brian Chang reports that the congregational life of the church is growing stronger. A small stream of visitors has come to worship recently. Because of the good response to the Hebrew class that Brian taught earlier this year, he is planning to begin a new class. Please pray that new people will come to the Hebrew class and that God will use it to bring people to Verde Valley Reformed Chapel. Pray too as the board of a local crisis pregnancy center discusses Brian’s offer to lead a Bible study for clients.
God has richly blessed Shiloh Presbyterian Church, and less than a year after denominational financial assistance began, it has been determined that the support is no longer needed. Praise God for his gracious blessings to this young congregation and her pastor Gabe Fluhrer. More than 100 people gather at Penny Road Elementary School each week to worship God. Please pray that God will give wisdom to the building search committee and will bless the congregation with a more suitable meeting facility. Pray too for the congregation as it works towards organization.
God is blessing Redeemer OPC Mission. The congregation has a good meeting place with very reasonable rent. Rev. Tom Albaugh has taken advantage of the building’s visibility to put up signs advertising outreach events. A marriage conference held earlier this year was attended by couples from several local churches. A Hot Dog Bash brought 35 people who were not associated with Redeemer, and 50 people attended a Christmas open house. Give thanks to God for the people who have attended these events. Praise God that giving by the congregation has been generous including a Thank Offering of more than $4,000. Pray that God will bless the Bible studies held in various locations during the week. Give thanks that visitors regularly show up to worship
Gateway OPC is still recovering from the loss of four large families to out-of-state moves, but three families have been interviewed for membership and will join the church soon. Rev. Todd Wagenmaker reports that visitors to Gateway seem to come in waves, and for the last few months, there have not been many new visitors. Still God has provided some regular visitors, including teachers from the classical Christian school where Todd formerly served as headmaster and an international student from Washington University who has come faithfully since the beginning of the semester, often bringing friends. Pray that God will send new visitors. Give thanks for generous giving for local needs and to the Thank Offering. Pray for God’s leading
