Omega OPC saw new visitors nearly every week in 2012, and some regular visitors worship with the congregation. Pastor Drew Adcock reports that visitors from the neighborhood have also attended several events held by the congregation. Most recently, several people from outside the church attended a December open house that featured food and Christmas carols. A piano concert is planned in the coming months with hopes to reach people throughout the Williamsport area. Please pray that many will come to Omega as a result of these efforts. Pray also that leaders will be raised up for this congregation. The facility that Omega rents isn’t ideal for Sunday school. Pray that God will provide someone in the congregation with zeal to lead the effort
Seven people have recently expressed interest in joining Christ Covenant OPC, and visitors are coming to worship. Praise God for this growth, and pray that more visitors will attend worship regularly. While a sale does not appear to be imminent, the Lutheran church building that the congregation is renting is on the market. The lease runs through March. Pray for wisdom for the congregation as they make decisions regarding their meeting place. Pastor Brandon Wilkins reports that the congregation volunteers at a local food pantry once a month, and has a worship service at a local nursing home several times a year. The adult Sunday school class is studying the book Two Ways to Live. Pray that this training will equip members of Christ Covenant
Two people were added to Reformation OPC in 2012. Already in 2013, several families have begun visiting regularly. Reformation has a good building to worship in, but the location is not ideal. Pastor Joseph Fowler asks us to pray for wisdom as the congregation considers moving to a more strategic location. The congregation will soon begin volunteering at the Salvation Army, serving breakfast one Saturday morning a month. One family in the church has begun distributing home made bread along with information about the church. Pastor Fowler is preaching a sermon series on evangelism and is encouraging the congregation to take advantage of outreach opportunities that exist around them. Pray that they will “be intentional in calling the lost of
The condition of the building that Wolf River Presbyterian Church now shares with three separate Pentecostal congregations has continued to deteriorate. Please pray that God will soon provide a suitable and affordable place to worship. Attendance at worship has decreased with the loss of some regular visitors. Despite these temporary setbacks, Pastor Mark Winder reports that the congregation is not discouraged. In fact, the body is growing in maturity and in love for one another. Praise God for young people who enjoy fellowship together, and for a worldview and culture class that Mark has begun teaching. Wolf River has had a good response to its internet presence, including hundreds of people listening to Pastor Winder’s sermons on the Wolf
The 2013 Church Planter Training Conference is being held January 8-10 at Lake Sherwood OPC in Orlando, Florida. Please pray for safety in travel, a rich time of fellowship, learning, and encouragement as the men who began their OP church planting ministries in 2012 and other invited guests travel to Orlando from throughout the United States to meet together with the Home Missions staff.
