Pastor McKamy and Covenant OPC praise God for two new families that joined this summer. One of these was the first full family to join by profession of faith and baptism, and they were also the McKamy’s former neighbors. In 2015 the McKamy’s met them at a playground where their children were playing. “We simply focused on building our friendship with them and loving them as we got to know them.” After about a year, there were natural opportunities to talk about church and Christianity, and after two years, this family began looking for a church. The McKamy’s invited them to worship and the rest is history. “We learned that the significant thing to focus on in outreach is simply Jesus’ command to love our neighbor; thinking of our neighbors as people to love and serve, while keeping eyes open to how God might be working in their life to draw them to himself.” Josh asks that you pray for additional families outside the church to attend a Bible study this fall and that the study would serve as a discipleship opportunity for people in the church.
