In Pasadena’s last report, a new ESL program had just begun at the mission work. Two months later, Matt is happy to share that God is blessing their efforts. The number of participants has been steadily growing, and they have even added a whole family, kids and all, to the group. The growth has been substantial enough for them to begin soliciting volunteers from the congregation. Given the demographics around Pasadena, most of the students that have been coming have been Chinese, so Mandarin has been the native tongue of most of the attendees. They are now working on incorporating a gospel lesson within the ESL study time itself, using Christianity Explored (which has subtitles in Mandarin). One of the church’s officer-trainees will be leading that portion, and they are excited to see how the Lord will use it in the months to come. Please pray that it might not only serve to introduce the gospel to those who may be returning to China, but that others who may remain in the area would come to saving faith and become part of the church family.
