Regional Home Missionary Steve Doe is concentrating his efforts on the Presbytery’s newest mission work, Jehoash Presbyterian Church in Catlett, Virginia. “Jehoash” means “in the strength of the Lord” and it is by the Lord’s strength and care that Jehoash is in the process of revitalizing, having a history that reaches back over a hundred years. What began in 1914 as a ministry to paroled inmates is now part of the OPC, ministering in a rural setting about to experience growth as farms are sold and houses and condos are built. Pray for the congregation which is eager to grow spiritually and numerically and reach out to their community. Pray that the preaching of the gospel would transform lives as the apostle Paul declared (Romans 1:16-17), and for the provisional session as it seeks to show how being Presbyterian brings order, stability, and health to a congregation.
