Mark Sumpter’s focus as he serves as RHM for Presbytery of the Southwest is to continue reaching out, cultivating relationship, and seeking more opportunities for prayer, counsel, and getting evangelistic studies launched. He shares that Houston gets most of his time, energy, and planning as he assists Good Shepherd OPC, which has recently seen an uptick in visitors. Mark is also assisting the Rev. Nick Lammé and his Houston Hurricane Harvey evangelistic activity. Pastor Jason Kirklin at the mission work in Waco is seeing greater and greater in-roads to the campus of Baylor University. In January of 2019, the Presbytery approved New Braunfels OPC to be officially recognized as a mission work. Thank you for praying for its worship and witness as a developing mission. Please also be in prayer for a new developing field: Living Stone Fellowship of Wichita Falls, TX. Pray for other new possibilities in Texas: College Station, El Paso, Clear Lake, and South Gulf Coast. Mark continues to field inquiries from SW Arkansas; Las Cruces, NM; and North Central Arkansas. With the newly expanded presbytery geographical borders, Mark will additionally be giving attention to NE Oklahoma and Arkansas.
