Grace Fellowship OPC has continued to meet in joint worship services with Firelands Grace Church in Sandusky at their rented church building since Easter. Pastor Larry Oldaker has been preaching through Luke’s gospel and concluded a nine week membership information class. The two groups met June 9 to discuss the possibility of Firelands Grace Church joining with Grace Fellowship OPC to be a unified developing OP congregation in the Sandusky area. There were many questions from the Firelands families, but the overall consensus seemed to be in favor of continuing to work together for a union of the groups. The formal vote was delayed until July 14 due to the desire to pray about the decision and to answer as many concerns as possible. Prayer, discipleship, and mutual ministry continue to mark the fellowship of the two groups together. There have been some challenges as some people have serious concerns about the proposed union. God’s grace and the Spirit of unity has been clearly evident in all the proceedings. The church continues to see weekly visitors and one individual and another family have inquired about membership. Another visitor from Malaysia, who is working at Cedar Point amusement park, is being ministered to. He has spoken of a growing reformation of the Anglican Church there and is eager to learn and enjoy fellowship with the OPC. Your prayers for the coming days are appreciated.
