This month we are glad to welcome Pastor Stephen Lauer (wife Felicia and son Isaac) to Home Missions Today as Wilmington Reformed Church (WRC) begins denominational support. WRC started out as a group of families who had been worshipping for a number of years at a PCA church across the border in Kentucky (one hour away). Desiring to see a faithful church planted near their homes, and with the blessing of their PCA congregation, they reached out to the OPC and started working with Pastor Brad Peppo. The group began worship services on the campus of Wilmington College just over one year ago. This April, the Presbytery ordained and installed Stephen as church planter for WRC. Stephen shares that they are united by a passion for studying God’s Word, a zeal for service in the church, and a longing to see the town of Wilmington come under the gracious reign of King Jesus. He asks for prayer that the Lord would 1) bless their study through the book of Ephesians in worship and the Shorter Catechism in Sunday School, 2) show them how they can better serve one another as the body of Christ, and 3) open doors for gospel ministry in the town of Wilmington.
