Reformation Presbyterian Church (RPC) is quickly moving toward organization. Pastor Lowell Ivey shares that they have three men who have been certified to stand for election to office: two for the office of deacon and one for the office of ruling elder. Because of the unique circumstances of the congregation, they will be petitioning the presbytery to allow them to have two augmented (borrowed) elders. “We believe we are ready for organization in every way, but we need some help due to the wonderful explosion of growth we have seen in recent months.” Currently membership is over 100 and morning attendance is averaging 115, with 130 or more on some Sundays. Lowell is happy to report that Pastor Steve Doe has been back to preach after many months of severe health problems. The Iveys also recently started a midweek Bible study on Ephesians in their home. It has been so well attended that people have had to sit on the floor. Give thanks to God for this spiritual hunger for the Word and for growth in grace. RPC’s biggest prayer request right now is for a new building. This has been difficult due to the scarcity of suitable facilities in the area and the high cost of real estate.
