On the last Lord’s Day of January, Yuma OPC had their annual “State of the Mission Work” meeting, and the state of the work is strong! Pastor Jeremy Baker reflects, “It is hard to believe that we have already been meeting for worship on a weekly basis for over 4 1/2 years! My family and I love serving in Yuma and feel blessed to be a part of what the Lord is doing here.” Since last summer, two families have joined (both military), one family comes regularly (military), and another family (year round) will likely join soon. The work will also have the joy of welcoming three covenant children in the next month or so. In addition to growing in number, Yuma is growing in love for the Lord and for each other. Even Yuma’s visitors have commented on the warmth and love that is evident when they visit for the first time (John 13:34-35). Pastor Baker asks you to pray that winter visitors would find the church and that God might be pleased to add “year round residents” to their number. Pray that the Lord would develop/provide elders and deacons. And finally, pray that the congregation would continue to grow in their love for the Lord, one another, and for the lost.
